A simplified version of the Place Standard Tool, developed to use with younger children approximately aged 6 to 12. It is an engaging and interactive tool that children respond to and enjoy using. It can be used alongside the version for Young People and the main version of the Place Standard Tool

Children's Tool

Very young users might need parents/ carers or experienced facilitators to help when using this tool. As well as having questions and prompts tailored for this age group, the scoring has been changed to a three point scale.

The tool has been adapted and developed by Play Scotland and A Place in Childhood in consultation with children and young people. Illustrations are by Tim Archbold and come from ‘Play this way.’
