A report on Improving Health Outcomes Through Placemaking.

This report describes healthy places as those designed and built to improve the quality of life for all people who live, work, worship, learn and play within their borders. In placemaking, the important transformation happens in the mind of participants, not simply in the space itself. Therefore the health challenges faced by those living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods that struggle with persistent and systemic problems like unemployment and poverty, are evidence of the growing gulf of health inequities that exist between rich and poor.
